1.4 <br />1.5 <br />COORDINATION BETWEEN DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS <br />A. Each Project will include a Store Remodel; Club Remodel; Seasonal Shop Addition; Chainlink Expansion; Glazed <br />Canopy Addition; Pharmacy Addition; TLE Addition; Convenience Addition; Stockroom Addition. <br />B. BUILDING ADDITION PROJECTS: The construction of the Building Addition will be accomplished by a <br />General Contractor. The General Contractor will perform his scope of work for a stipulated lump sum including <br />materials and labor. The General Contractor for the Building Addition may be different from the General <br />Contractor performing the Remodel. Wal-Mart will furnish some materials and may directly hire Separate <br />Contractors for specific work. Refer to Section 01640. <br />C. REMODEL PROJECTS: A General Contractor will be selected to construct and coordinate the Remodel. Wal- <br />Mart will furnish some materials to be installed by the General Contractor or by Wal-Mart's Separate Contractors. <br />The General Contractor will act in supervisory capacity for the coordination of the Separate Contractors hired <br />directly by Wal-Mart. Refer to Section 01640. <br />D. Concurrent Construction: The Building Addition is generally constructed prior to the remodel. It may be <br />necessary to construct the Addition and the Remodel concurrently. It is imperative that the General Contractors <br />and the Separate Contractors work in harmony so that the Project may be completed within the approved time <br />schedule. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES OF REMODEL GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND SEPARATE CONTRACTORS <br />A. The Remodel General Contractor and Separate Contractors will provide a Construction Schedule to the Wal-Mart <br />Construction Manager for review and approval. The Contractors shall immediately contact the Wal-Mart <br />Construction Manager if the Work does not progress as scheduled. It is imperative that the Contractors keep close <br />communication with the Wal-Mart Construction Manager regarding the progress of the Project. <br />B. At the commencement of construction, the Wal-Mart Construction Manager, Wal-Mart Store Manager, Remodel <br />General Contractor, Separate Contractors and the Store Planning Field Project Manager will review the <br />Construction Schedule. The Construction Schedule is set up on a weekly basis and must be followed unless <br />deviations are authorized by the Wal-Mart Construction Manager. (Refer to Section 01500 for posting of <br />schedule.) <br />C. The Remodel General Contractor and Separate Contractors shall communicate at all times with the Store Manager, <br />other Subcontractors and the Store Planning Field Project Manager to facilitate the construction and ensure it is <br />completed within the approved time schedule. <br />D. Upon completion of a portion of the Work (Item, Trade, etc.), that portion of the Work must be 100% complete <br />prior to proceeding to the next phase or portion of Work. <br />E. The Remodel General Contractor shall be responsible for the coordination of the Remodel work of all Separate <br />Contractors with the Wal-Mart Construction Manager and the Wal-Mart Store Manager. <br />F. The Construction Manager will determine what work shall be done during normal operating hours (store hours) <br />and during "closing" hours. <br />G. The Remodel General Contractor will coordinate with the Store Planning Field Project Manager the delivery of <br />Wal-Mart-furnished items. <br />H. The Remodel General Contractor shall also be responsible for coordinating the location of storage <br />trailers/containers for Contractor -supplied materials and equipment. (Refer to Section 01500). The Remodel <br />General Contractor shall be responsible for permits required for temporary storage facilities (trailers/containers). <br />Wal-Mart will not be responsible for the loss of any tools or equipment. Wal-Mart will also not be responsible for <br />the cost of any rental tools.
