FOR USE OF THE LOAD _TABLE HERE —IN, THE FOLLOWING SHALL APPLY, <br />1. FOR CURTAIN WALL DETAILS, SEE DRAWING 1789 OR 1790. <br />2. SEE THE ELEVATION ON SHEET 1 FOR FRAME MEMBER LOAD WIDTH, SPAN & ANCHOR TYPE REFERENCE. NOTE THAT <br />THE LOAD WIDTH "W" VALUE USED IN THE LOAD TABLE FOR ANY CORNER FRAME MEMBER SHALL BE THE LESSER OF <br />LOAD WIDTH AT THE LEFT & RIGHT SIDE OF THE CORNER. <br />3. THE LOAD TABLE HERE -IN HAS BEEN DEVELOPED USING A SIMPLIFIED CONSERVATIVE DESIGN APPROACH TO <br />DETERMINE ALLOWABLE DESIGN PRESSURES FOR EACH MULTI -SPAN CURTAIN WALL ANCHOR AND VERTICAL FRAME MEMBER <br />REINFORCEMENT CONDITION. IF A MORE EXACT COST EFFICIENT APPROACH IS DESIRED TO DETERMINE CURTAIN WALL <br />MEMBER REINFORCEMENT REQUIREMENTS, ANCHOR REQUIREMENTS, AND ALLOWABLE LOADS, REFERENCE TO SHEET 2 & 3 <br />OF DRAWING 1789 OR 1790 SHALL BE MADE. <br />4. WITH INTERMEDIATE VERTICAL FRAME MEMBERS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THIS LOAD TABLE REQUIRES <br />REINFORCEMENT IN THE MEMBERS, THERE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF A 36" LONG SECTION OF R1 REINFORCEMENT PLACED <br />AT EACH INTERMEDIATE WIND & DEAD LOAD ANCHOR LOCATION CENTERED WITH THE ANCHOR. <br />5. VERTICAL FRAME MEMBER SPLICE LOCATIONS SHALL BE WITHIN 1/3 THE SPAN DISTANCE (L/3) FROM A SUPPORT BUT <br />NO CLOSER THAN 18" FROM THE CENTERLINE OF INTERMEDIATE WIND OR DEAD LOAD ANCHORS (MUST STAY 18" AWAY <br />FROM SUPPORT TO ALLOW FOR THE REQUIRED REINFORCEMENT SPECIFIED IN NOTE #4). EXAMPLE: IF THE SPAN BETWEEN <br />SUPPORTS IS 12 FT., THE SPLICE SHALL OCCUR NO MORE THAN 12/3 = 4 FT. & NO LESS THAN 18" FROM A SUPPORT. <br />6. VERTICAL MEMBER SPLICES MAY NOT OCCUR WITHIN THE TOP MOST OR BOTTOM MOST SPAN OF ANY CURTAIN WALL <br />UNLESS THEY ARE A DISTANCE OF L/3 (+/-10%) FROM THE WIND OR DEAD LOAD ANCHOR. <br />7. FOR USE OF THIS TABLE, VERTICAL MEMBER REINFORCEMENT, WHEN REQUIRED, MUST RUN FULL HEIGHT OF THE WALL <br />SPLICED ONLY AT VERTICAL FRAME MEMBER SPLICE LOCATIONS. END SET BACK FROM TOP & BOTTOM OF THE WALL MAY <br />BE UP TO 18". SET BACK FROM A SPLICE SHALL BE WITHIN 6" OF THE SPLICE. <br />8. WHEN DETERMINING THE ALLOWABLE PRESSURE FOR A FRAME MEMBER TOP & BOTTOM END SUPPORT, THE LARGEST <br />OF THE END AND ITS ADJOINING SPAN SHALL BE USED AS THE APPLICABLE SPAN LENGTH IN THE LOAD TABLE. <br />9. WHEN DETERMINING THE ALLOWABLE PRESSURE FOR AN INTERMEDIATE WIND OR DEAD LOAD ANCHOR, THE LARGEST OF <br />THE SPANS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE SUPPORT SHALL BE USED AS THE APPLICABLE SPAN LENGTH IN THE LOAD TABLE. <br />10. WHEN DETERMINING THE ALLOWABLE PRESSURE FOR A FRAME MEMBER, IF SPANS VARY BETWEEN SUPPORTS, THE <br />LARGEST SPAN SHALL BE USED AS THE APPLICABLE SPAN LENGTH IN THE LOAD TABLE. HOWEVER, IF MULTIPLE <br />ADJOINING SPANS ARE SMALLER THAN OTHER SPANS, THE SMALLER ADJOINING SPANS MAY BE CONSIDERED IN THIS LOAD <br />TABLE PER THE SPAN DIAGRAM ON SHEET 3. NOTE THAT WHEN A SMALLER SPAN ADJOINS A LARGER SPAN, THE LARGER <br />SPAN MUST BE USED WHEN DETERMINING REINFORCEMENT AND LOAD REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ADJOINING SMALLER SPAN. <br />11. PARAPETS (TOP OF WALL FRAME MEMBER CANTILEVER) MAY APPLY PROVIDING THE HEIGHT OF THE PARAPET ABOVE <br />THE TOP MOST WIND OR DEAD LOAD ANCHOR DOES NOT EXCEED THE LESSER OF 1/3 THE SPAN LENGTH BELOW THE <br />ANCHOR OR 48". WHEN DETERMINING THE ALLOWABLE PRESSURE FOR THE PARAPET EXTENSION & THE ANCHOR BELOW <br />THE PARAPET, THE LARGER SPAN EXISTING BELOW THE ANCHOR SHALL BE USED AS THE APPLICABLE SPAN LENGTH IN <br />THE LOAD TABLE. <br />12. VERTICAL MEMBER REINFORCEMENT, WHEN REQUIRED IN A PARAPET EXTENSION, SHALL EXTEND UP PAST THE TOP <br />MOST SUPPORT A MINIMUM OF 2/3 THE LENGTH OF THE PARAPET EXTENSION. <br />INSTRUCTIONS OF USE OF MULTI —SPAN LOAD_ TABLE: <br />1. READ & UNDERSTAND ALL NOTES ON THIS SHEET. <br />2. DETERMINE THE APPLICABLE SPAN LENGTH FOR THE VERTICAL FRAME MEMBER BEING CONSIDERED. MAY CONSIDER <br />ALL SPANS OF ONE VERTICAL MEMBER EQUAL TO THE LARGEST SPAN ALONG THAT MEMBER OR CONSIDER SPANS <br />BASED ON THE EXAMPLE SHOWN ON SHEET 3. <br />3. DETERMINE THE LOAD WIDTH FOR THE FRAME MEMBER BEING CONSIDERED PER THE ELEVATION ON SHEET 1. <br />4. ENTER THE LOAD TABLE ON SHEET 4 OR 5, CHECK EACH FRAME MEMBER TYPE, CHOOSE THE LEAST REINFORCED <br />ONE THAT MEETS THE JOB REQUIRED DESIGN PRESSURE & USE THAT MEMBER OR ONE WITH MORE REINFORCEMENT. <br />5. CHECK EACH APPLICABLE ANCHOR TYPE TO INSURE IT MEETS THE JOB REQUIRED DESIGN PRESSURE. <br />6.
