<br />B. UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS AND CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

<br />If the OHner has hired a contractor or contractors to undertake work, they may b~ required to be licensed in accordance with
<br />statr and local regulations. If the contractor is not licensed as required by law, b~th the owner and contractor ~ay be
<br />cited for a misdemeanor violation under state law. If the owner or intend~d contractor are uncertain as to what lic~n5ing
<br />requirelents lay apply f~r the intended work, they are advised to contact the City of Zephyrhills Building Departlent, (8131
<br />788-6611.

<br />Furthermore, if the owner has hired a contractor or contractors, he is advised to have the c~ntractor(s) sign portions of the
<br />"Contractor Sections" of this application for which they will be resp~nsible. If you, as the owner sign as th~ c~ntractor,
<br />you are indicating that you, rather than the contractor, are responsible for the work, If the c~ntract~r wishes you to sign
<br />as contractor that lay be an indication that he is not pr~perly licensed and is not entitled to per&itting privileges in the
<br />City ~f Zephyrhills.

<br />A perlllit issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the work and not as authority to violate, cancel alter, or
<br />set aside any prDvisions of the technical codes, nor shall issuance of a permit prevent the Building Official fre.. thereafter
<br />requiring a correction of errors in plans, construction, or violations of any code. Every permit issued .hall becole invalid
<br />unless the work authorized by such permit is cOIDenced within six months Df issuance, or if Hork authol12ed by the per.it is
<br />suspended or abandoned for a period of six lonths after the time the Hork is commenced. One 90 day e:te~5ioll of tile, aay be
<br />allowed for the permit with fee charge of $15.00. The extension shall be requested in writing to the Building Official, An
<br />approved inspection ~ust be logged during each six month period, or the project Hill be considered ~balidoned.
