<br />B. UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS AND CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

<br />If the owner has hired a contractor or contractors to undertake work, they .ay be required to be licensed in accordance with
<br />state and local regulations. If the contractor is not licensed as required by law, both the ~"ner and contractor ~ay be
<br />cited for a lisde.eanor violation under state laK. If the owner or intended contract~r are uncertain as t~ what licensing
<br />require.ents lay apply for the intended work, they are advised to contact the City ~f 2ephyrhills Building Depart.ent, (8131
<br />788-6611.

<br />Furtherlore, if the owner has hired a contractor or contractors, he is advised to have the c~ntract~r(sl sign portions of the
<br />'Contractor Sections' of this application for which they Kill be responsible. If y~u, as the ~wner sign as the contractor,
<br />you are indicating that you, rather than the contractor, are responsible for the work. If the contractor wishes you t~ sign
<br />as contractor that lay be an indication that he is not properly licensed'and is not entitled to per&itting privileges in the
<br />City of Zephyrhills.

<br />A per.it issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the work and not as authority to viol~te, cancel alter, or
<br />set aside any provisions of the technical [odes, nor shall issuance of a p~rmit prevent the Building Offici.l frOM thereafter
<br />requiring a correction ~f errors in plans; construction, or violations of any code. Every permit iS511~d !hall beCD.e invalid
<br />unless the work authorized by such perlit is cotllllenced within six months of issuance, or if ~ork authDI lzed by the per.it is
<br />suspended or abandoned for a period of six lonths after the ti,e the work is commenced. One 90 day e=te~sioli of tile, aay be
<br />allowed for the permit with fee charge of $15.00. The extension shall be requested in writing to the Building Official. An
<br />approved inspection must be logged during each six lonth period, or the project will be considered abdlJdoned.

<br />RESULT IN YOUR PAYING TWICE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO YOUR PROPERTY. IF YOU
