<br />B. UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS AND CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

<br />If the ONner has hired a contractor or contractors to undertake work, they may be required to be licensed in accordance with
<br />state and local regulations. If the contractor is not licensed as required by law, both the ONner and contractor ftay be
<br />tited for a lisdeleanor violation under state law. If the owner or intended c~ntract~r are uncertain as to what licensing
<br />requirelents lay apply f~r the intended work, they are advised to contact the City of Zephyrhills Building Departlent, (BI3)

<br />Furthermore, if the owner has hired a contractor or contractors, he is advised to have the c~ntractor(s) sign portions of the
<br />'Contractor Sections' of this application for which they will be responsible. If y~u, as the owner sign as the contractor,
<br />you are indicating that you, rather than the contractor, are responsible for the work. If the cc,ntractor wishes you to sign
<br />as contractor that may be an indication that he is not properly licensed and is not entitled t~ per~itting privileges in the
<br />City of Zephyrhills,

<br />A pertit issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the work and not as authority tu yiol~te, cancel alter, or
<br />set aside any provisions of the technical codes, nor shall issuance of a permit prevent the Building Official frol thereafter
<br />requiring a correction of errors in plans, construction, or vi~lations of any cude. Every permit issued ;hall becole invalid
<br />unless the work authorized by such permit is co..enced within six months of issuanCE, ur if work aulhoflzed by the perlit is
<br />suspended or aband~ned fur a period of six lonths after the time the work is cummenced. One 90 day e:tE~5joll of tile, lay be
<br />allowed for the per~it with fee charge of $15.00. The extension shall be requested in wriling tu the Building Official. An
<br />approved inspection aust be logged during each six month period, or the project Hill be considered aba\\doned.
