<br />1 INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Silent Knight Model 5204 Is a low-cost fire control panel with optional communicator that meets the requirements for UL <br />864 and NFPA 72. <br />NOTE: In this manual, the following conventions will be observed: <br />F1\rIE$SAG-E~ - A shaded rectang'e represenf$ a message that you see on a display. <br />[KEY] - A clear rectang'e represenf$ a key that you press. <br /> <br />1.1 FEATURES <br /> <br />· Cross alarm feature. <br /> <br />· Alarm verification. <br /> <br />. Programmable smoke power reset time. <br /> <br />. SUrface- or flush-mounted cabinet. <br /> <br />. Fuseless, current-limited design, rated at 3.0 A of external power and either 12 V or 24 V. <br /> <br />. 4 fully supervised, style A (class B) Fire zones, which can be disabled. <br /> <br />NOTE: Under new NFPA requiremenf$, class A zones are now referred to as "sty'e D" and class B zones are called <br />"style A. " <br /> <br />. Compatible with 2-wlre and 4-wire smoke detectors. <br /> <br />. Current limited loop power output for all zone inputs. <br /> <br />· Detection of ground faults. <br /> <br />. Built-In audible trouble buzzer with a loudness of 80 decibels (dB) at 30 cm (Ie, 300 mm or, approximately, 12 Inches). <br /> <br />. Connections for two 12-VDC, 17 -AH rechargeable batteries, providing at least 60 hours of standby power to the basic <br />5204 unit (meets NFPA 72 City Box and Polarity Reversal requirements). <br /> <br />. 2 Independently supervised alarm bell outputs (current limited) - programmable for individual zones. <br /> <br />. 2 auxiliary relay outputs--one for alarms, one programmable for alarm or trouble conditions. One of these relays can be <br />used to activate the Model 5220 Direct Connect Module (see section 8). <br /> <br />. External silence/reset alarms input available. (Local annunciators continue and on-board beeper continue to sound <br />until system has been serviced. See section 2.6 for more Information,) <br /> <br />· 7 -segment indication of trouble, alarm and other conditions. <br /> <br />. Separate precision battery-charging circuit that maximizes battery life. <br /> <br />. Compatibility with the SIA (Security Industry Association) reporting format and 6 other standard reporting formats. If <br />you want the 9000 to print PROGRAMMING PASS or PROGRAMMING FAIL after downaoadlng, the 9000 must <br />have the Model 9307 software package, revision 900501 or later (see section 25.4). <br /> <br />. 6 LEOs on front of cabinet that indicate alarm condition (red), silenced trouble condition (yellow), presence of AC and <br />DC power (green), presence of an alarm condition in alarm memory (yellow), trouble condition (yellow), TEST or <br />PROGRAM mode or system reporting to the central station (yellow). <br /> <br />.
