BUILDING VALUATION DATA As a service to our members, the SBCCI offers the following building valuation data, representing the current average construction costs per sq ft. The average costs include structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanlcal,interior finish, normal site preparation (excavation and backfill for building), architectural and design fees, overhead and profit. When using this data, It should be noted that these are 'average' costs based on typical construction methods for each occupancy group and type of construction. These figures should be adjusted as appropriate. Occupancies are grouped into two categories: 'good06 and 'average,'7 to reflect the broad range of construction values. This data was compiled by the saccI Plan Review Department using the Marshall Valuation Service as published by the Marshall and Swift Publication Company, Los Angeles, California.
