<br />licensed as requixed by law, both the owner and contractor may b. cited for a misdemeanor
<br />violation under state law. If the owner or intended contractor are uncertain ..to what
<br />licensinq requirements may apply tor the intended work, they are advised to contact the
<br />City of Zephyrhills Building Department, 813-788-6611.
<br />Further.more, if the owner has hired a contraotor or contractors, he is advised to have the
<br />contractor(s) sign portions of the ~Contractor SectIonsN of th1e application for which they
<br />will be responsible. If you, as the owner signs as the oontractor, you are indioating that
<br />you, rather than the contractor, are responsible for the work. If the contractor wishes
<br />you to sign a$ contracto~ that may b. an indication that he is not properly licensed and ie
<br />not entitled to pe~tting privileges in the City of Zephyrhills.

<br />A per.mit Issued shall be construed to be a license to prooeed with the work and not as
<br />auth9rity to violate, cancel, alter, or set aside any prOVisions of the technical codes,
<br />nor shall iSluanee of a per.mit prevent the Building Official trom therea(ter requiring a
<br />oorrection of errors in plans, oonstruction, or violations of any oode. Every per.mit
<br />issued shall became invalid unless the work authorized by suoh pe~t is c~nced within
<br />six months of issuance, or if work authorized by the per.mit is suspendeQ or abandoned for a
<br />period of six months after the time the work is commenoed. One 90 day exten~ion of time
<br />.may be allowed for the permit with fee charge ot $15.00. The extension shall be requested
<br />in writing to the Building Official. An approved inspection must be logged during each six
<br />month periOd, or the project will be considered abandoned.
