<br />It the owner has hired a contractor or contract:ors to undertake work, they may be requi,red
<br />' to be licensed in accordanoe with state and local regulations. If the contractor is not
<br />licensed as requlred by law, both the ol.mer and contractor may be cited for a misdemeanor
<br />violation under state law. If the owner or illtended contractor are uncertain as to what
<br />licellsing requirements may apply for the intended work, they are ad\Tised to contact the
<br />Clty of Zephyrhills Building Department, 613-788-6611.
<br />Furthermore, if the owner has hired a contractor or contractors, he is advi.sed to have the
<br />oontractor(s) sign portlons of the "Contractor Sections" of this application for whioh they
<br />will be responsible. If you, as the owner signs as the contractor, you are indicating that
<br />you, rather than the contractor, are responsible for the work. If the contractor wishes
<br />you to sign as contractor that may be an indication that he is not properly lice)lSed and is
<br />not entitled to permitting privileges i.n the Ci.ty of Zephyrhills.

<br />understood that a drainage plan addressing a "compensating volume" will be submitted whlch
<br />is prepared ))y a professional engineer registered in the State of Florida prior to permit
<br />issuance.
<br />A permit issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with ~he work and not as
<br />autllority to \Tiolate, cancel, alter, or set aside any prOVisions of the technical codes,
<br />nor shall issuance of a permit prevent the Building Official from thereafter requirillg a
<br />correotion of errors in plans, oonstruotiol1, or vio~ationll of any code. J!1very permit
<br />issued shall beoome invalid unles8 the work authorized by suoh permit is conunenoed withln
<br />six months of issuanoe, or if work allthorlzed by the permit is suspended or abandoned for a
<br />period of six months after the time the work is conunencecl. One 90 day extension of thlle
<br />may be allowed for the permit with fee charge of $15.00. 'l'he extension shall be requested
<br />in writing to the Building Official. An approved inspection must be logged dur.i.ng eaoh six
<br />month period, or the project will be considered abandoned.
