For high velocity zones, convert to 130 MPH spans. <br />2. Above spans do not include length of knee brace. Add horizontal length of knee brace to above spans for total beam spans. <br />Example: To calcualate maximum span 'L' at 140 MPH wind velocity for: <br />2" x 4" x 0.045" Hollow Tilt section with Load Width = 5' and 3 span Overhang Condition <br />1. Find 'L' at 120 MPH: L = 6'-11" <br />2. Convert 'L' to decimal feet: L = 6'-11- = 6.92' <br />3. Select the appropriate multiplier from the conversion table found on the <br />specification sheet at the beginning of this section. <br />- if the height is followed by 'b' use Bending multiplier. <br />- if the height is followed by 'd' use Deflection multiplier. <br />4.
