If Lhe contractor is not <br />licensed as required by law, both the owner and oontractor may be cited for a misdemeanor <br />violation under state law. It the owner or intended contractor are uncertain as to ~~lat <br />licensing requirements may apply for the intended work, they are advised to contact the <br />City of Zephyrhills Building Department, 813-786-6611. <br />Furthenno~-e, if the owner has hired a contractor or contractors, he is advised to have the <br />eontractor(s) sign portions of the "Contractor Sections" of this application for which they <br />~dll be responsible. It you, as the owner signs as the contractor, YQll are indicating that <br />you, rather than the oontractor, are responsible for the work. If the oontracto~' \-lishes <br />you to sign as contractor that may be an indication that he is not properly licensed and is <br />not entitled to permitting privileges in the City of Zephyrhills. <br />C. Every permit <br />isrsued shall become invalid unless the Hork authorized by such permit is oonunenced Hithin <br />sJx months of issuance, or if work authorized by the permit is suspended or abandoQed for a <br />period of ai:K months after the tilne the work is conunenced. One 90 day e:Ktension of tillle <br />may be allowed for the permit with fee charge of $15.00. The extension shall be teques~ed <br />in writing to the Buildi.ng Official.
