<br />Construct around the swimming pool, spa or hot tub a MINIMUM FOUR FOOT HIGH FENCE with self-
<br />closing, self-latching gates. The fence must not have any gaps, openings, Indentations, protrusions, or
<br />structural components lhat could allow a young child 10 crawl under, squeeze thrOUgh, or climb over the
<br />fence, Gates must open outward away from pool area. The releasing mechanism of t 1e latchIng device
<br />must be located on Ihe pools ide of Ihe gale and so placed that it cannot be reached by a young child
<br />over the top or through any opening or gap No opening In the fence may be large enough to admll a
<br />four-inch sphere.

<br />Construcl a screen enclosure around the swimming pool, spa or hot tub with self-closing, self.latchlng
<br />screen doors. Latches on exterior screen doors must be minimum 54 Inches from the exterior Bccess
<br />standing surface, All screen enclosures require Building Permits,
<br />
<br />Provide and utilize an approved safely,swirmning pool, spa or hol lub cover Ihat compiles with ASTM
<br />F1346-91 (Standard Performance Specifications for Safety Covers for Swimming Pools, Spas and Hot
<br />Tubs). Such cover must be capable of being securely fastened over the swimming pool, spa or hot tub
<br />when not in use.
