There
are also areas where the lintel pour did not reach the top of block, even leaving some steel exposed.

Straps with voids or embedded too shallow are assumed to be bad and have no value since their
strength cannot easily be determined.

· The Contractor is to patch all the lintels to the correct height using a bonding agent and
minimum 3000 psi mortar.
· The Contractor is to install a SIMPSON MTSM16 twist strap using (4) W' X 2-Y4" to the
CMU and (7) 10d nails to the truss to all the trusses with bad HET A straps.
· The Girder Trusses, GR01 and GR02 are to be attached using (2) HTSM16 twist straps
using (4) W' X 2-W' to the CMU and (8) 10d nails to the girder truss.
· Unlike embedded HET A straps, twist straps have no certifiable lateral strength. Therefore
the contractor is to add a SIMPSON HM9 to every other truss using (5) W' X 2-W' to the
CMU and (4) SDS W'X1-1/2" screws to the truss.

Based upon our structural review, we certify that this As-Built condition is adequate and acceptable
for the design loads of this project.

If you have any questions concerning this project, do not hesitate to call us.

Sincerely,

L/ ~. --------
Carl A.
