A,1f
.-
Exhaust Fans 606.1 Exhaust fans vented to unconditioned space shall have dampers, except for combustion devices with integral exhaust (lilt-
ductwork.
Combustion Hestlng 606.1 Combustion space and water heating systems must be provided with outside combustion air, except for direct vent Aitl
appliances.
Water Heaters 612.1 Comply with efficiency requirements in Table 612.1.ABC.3.2. Switch or clearly marked circu~ breaker electric or cutoff tlA
(gas) must be provided. External or built,in heat trap required lor vertical pipe risers.
Swimming Pools & Spas 612.1 Spas & heated poolS must have covers (except solar heated). Noncommercial pools must have a pump timer. Gas spa & ;,A
pool heaters must have minimum thennal efficiency of 78%.
Hot Water Pipes 612.1 Insulation is requifed for hot water circulating systems (including heat recovery units). AlII
ShoWer Heads 612.1 Water flow must be restricted to no more than 2.5 gallons per minute at 80 psig. Nfl
HVAC Duct Construction, 610.1 All ducts. fmings, mechanical equipment and plenum chambers shall be mechanically attached, sealed, insulated and 'j.,
Insulation & Installation installed In accordance with the criteria of Section 610.1. Ducts In attics must be insulated to a minimum of R-6.
HVAC Controls 607.1 Separate readily accessible manual or automatic thennostat for each system. '/.

GENERAL DIRECTIONS:
1. On Table 6C-l indicate the R-value of the insulation being added to each component and the efficiency levels of the equipment being installed. All R-values and efficiencies installed must meet or exceed
the minimum values listed. Components and equipmen1 nei1her being added nor renovaled may be lelt blank.
2. ADDITIONS ONLY. Determine the percentage 01 new glass to cond~ioned Itoor area in the addition as lollows. Total the areas of all giass windows, sliding glass doors and glass door panels. Doubie the
area of all nonvertical rool glass and add rt to the previous t01a1. When glass in existing exterior walls is being removed or enclosed by the addition. an amount equal to the total area 01 this glass may be
subtracted Irom the total glass area. Divide the adjusted glass area total by Ihe conditioned floor area of the add~ion. Multiply by 100 to get the percenl. Find the largest glass percentage under which your
calculated percentage lalls on Table 6C,2. Prescriptives are given by the type 01 glass (single or double pane) and the overhang (OH) paired wi1h a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC). For a given glass type
and overhang. the minimum solar heal gain coefficien1 allowed is specified. Actual gtass windows and doors previously in lhe exterior walls 01 the house nd being reinstalled in the addilion do not have to
comply wi1h the overhang and solar heat gain coelflcien1 requirernenls on Table 6C,2. All new glass in lhe addilion must meet the requirement for one of the options in lhe glass percentage category you
indicated. The overhang (OH) distance is measured perpendicularly from the lace 01 the glass to a point directly under the outermost edge of the overhang.
3. RENOVATIONS ONLY. Replacement glass needs to meet the lollowing requirernenls. Any glass type and solar heal gain coefficient may be used for glass areas which are under at least a 2-loot overhang
and whose lowest edge does not extend lurther than 81eet from the overhang. Glass areas being renovated that do not meet this criteria must be e~her single, pane tinted, double-pane clear or double-pane
tinted.
4. BUILDING SYSTEMS. Comply when new system is installed lor system installed.
5. Complete the information requested on the top half ot page1.
6 Read 'Minimum Requirements lor SmaU Addilions and Renovations,' Table 6C'3, and check all applicable items.
7.
