That the owner shall comply with a~l City, State and Federa~ laws. in: regard to <br />social security~ workman's compensation, lien laws, etc., where app~icable. <br />8. That the owner shall comply w:i.th a~l the safety codes issued by the Florida <br />J:ndustria~ Comm:i.ssion. . <br />9. State ~aw requires construction to be done by ~icensed contractors. You have <br />applied for a pe%:mit under an exemption to that law. The exemption a~lows <br />you, as the owner of your property, to act as your own contractor with certain <br />restrictions even though you do not have a ~icense. You must provide direct <br />onsite supervision of the construction yourse~f. You may bui~d or improve .a <br />one-fam:i.~y or two-fam:i.~y residence or a farm outbuilding. You may a~so'build <br />or improve a commercial building, providedyou:r costs do not exceed $25,000. <br />The bui~ding or residence must be for your own use or occupancy. You may not delegate the <br />respons:i.bi~ity for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not <br />~icen.sed to perform the work being done.
