That prior to fina~ inspection any additio:na2 fees, fnc~uding re:i.:c.spection <br />fees, must :be paid in fuJ.~. A written request from th:i.s office sha~~ <br />,constitute' an officia~ notice. to pay additio~ fees. <br />7. That the owner sha~~ comp~y with a~~ City, state and Federa~ ~aws' in regard to <br />socia~ security, workman's compensation, ~ien ~aws, etc., where app~icable. <br />8. That the owner sha~~ comp~y wi th a~~ the 'safety codes issued :by the Florida <br />J:ndustrial Commission. <br />9. state law requires construction to :be done by licensed contractors. You have <br />applied for' a permit under an exemption to that law. The exemption allows <br />you, as the owner of your property, to act as your own contractor with certain, <br />restrictions even though you do not have a license. You must provide direct <br />onsite supervision of the construction yourself. You may :build or impr~e ,a <br />one-fami~y or two-fami~y residence or a farm outbuilding. You may also :build <br />or improve a commercia~ :building, provided your costs do not exceed $25,000. <br />The :building or residence must be for your own use or occupancy. J:t may not <br />be built or sUbstantia~~y improved for sale or lease~ If you sell or lease a <br />bui~ding yoti, have bui~tor ,sUbstantially ~roved yourseif within 1. year after <br />the construction is comp~ete, the ~aw wi~l presume 'thAt you :built or <br />substantially improved if for saJ.e or ~ease, which is a violation of this <br />exemption. You may not hire an. ~icensed person to act as your contractor or <br />to supervise people working on your :bui~ding. It is your respons:i.:bili ty to <br />make sure that people employed by you have ~icenses required by state law and <br />by county or municipal licensing ordinances. You may not delegate the <br />responsibility for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not <br />lic~sed to ~erfo= the work being done.
