That he or she s~ll comply with the following conditions.: T1the owner and he or she alone shall act as the builder for all phases of con truction. Tha the owner will comply with al~ provisions of the City of Zephyrhills or ' ances and codes pertinent to-the building. Tha in the event various phases of construction are Subcontracted, he will eng e only properly licensed subcontractors and will perSonally supervise su work._ That in the event the Building :I:nspector shall require corrections to be made, the er will assume full responsibility to insure they are made, 'a:c.d. upon camp etion wili call for a reinspection before proceeding with the building. That the oWner shall assume full responsibi~ity for the construction and will not ect supervision of his Work from the City of Zephyrhills Building Dap tmen t. That prior to final inspection any additional fees, including reinspection fees must be paid in full. A written request from this office shall . constitute' an official notice_to pay additional fees. That 1 the owner shall comply with all City, State and Federal laws' in regard to soci 1 security, workman's Compensation, lien laws, etc., where applicable. That the owner shall comply with all the safety codes issued by the Florida :I:ndu trial Commission. . Stat law requires construction to be done by licensed contractors. You have appl ' ed for a pe:cmi.t under an exemption to that law. '!'he exemption allows you, as the owner of your property, to act as your own contractor with certain rest ' ctions even though you do not have a license. You must provide direct onsit supervision of the construction yourself. You uy build or imprC?Ve .a one-f 'ly or tWO-family residence or a fcu:m outbuilding. You may also build or rove a commercial building, provided your costs do not exceed $25,000. The b 'lding or residence must be for your own use or OCcupancy. J:t may not be b 'lt or. sUbstantially improved for sale or lease. If you seal :o~ lease a build ng yotihave built or substantially improved yourself within 1 year after the c nstruction is complete, the law will presUme .that you built: or subst tiallyimproved if for sale or lease, which is a. violation of this exemp ion. You may not hire an unlicensed person to act as your contractor or to su ervise people working on your building. J:t is your responsibility to make ure that people employed by you have licenses required by state law and by co ty or municipal licensing ordinances. You may not delegate the respo sibility for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not l.icen ed to perform the work being done. Any person working on your building who i not l.icensed must work under your d.irect supezvis.ion and must be emplo ed by you, which means that you must deduct P'.:I:.C.A. and withhold.ing tax and p .ide workers' compensat.ion for that employee, all as prescribed by iaw.
