Bearing capacity of soil <br />shall be verified, prior to placing the slab, by field soil test or a soil testing lab. <br /> <br />2. The slab / foundation shall be cleared of debris, roots, and compacted prior to placement of concrete. <br /> <br />3. No footing other than 3-1/2" (4" nominal) slab is required except when addressing erosion until the projection <br />from the host structure of the carport or patio cover exceeds 16'-0". Then a minimum of a Type II footing is <br />required. All slabs shall be 3-1/2" (4" nominal) thick. <br />4. All slabs shall be allowed to cure 7 days before installing <br />anchors. <br />5. If local building codes require a minimum footing use Type II footing or footing section required by local <br />code.
