The exterior joint <br />between the buckstrip and masonry must also be sealed. <br />Buckstrips shall run the entire length of the rough opening. A <br />buckstrip is not necessary at the sill if it is pre-cast. All gaps <br />must be sealed. Buckstrips should be pressure treated yellow <br />pine, spruce or comparable lumber.
