insulation on a skid and completely cover with a breathable
material such as tarp or canvas. If the insulation is
lightweight, it should be weighted to prevent possible wind
damage.

1.05 JOB CONDmONS

A. This system must not be applied on projects where the slope
exceeds IS" in one horizontal foot. When the roof slope
exceeds 5" per horizontal foot, use of an automatic welding
machine may be more difficult A hand held welder should
be specified.

B. Existing roofing material must be investigated by the
specifier and all wet material must be removed.

C. Existing phenolic insulation and sprayed-in-place urethane
roofs must be removed prior to insta1lation of this system.

D. The use of a vapor retarder to protect insulation and reduce
moisture accumulation within an insulated assembly should
be investigated by the specifier. Consult the publications by
ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refiigerating and
Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc.) and NRCA (National
Roofing Contractors Association) for specific information.

E. Coordination between trades is essential to avoid wmecessary
traffic over sections of the roof and to prevent damage to the
membrane roofing system.

1.06 WARRANlY

All warranties are available for commercial projects only.

A. A 5 or 10 year Membrane System Warranty, with a wind
speed coverage of up to 55 mph is available for a charge.

B. A 19 or IS-year Total Roofing System Warranty is
available for a charge on commercial projects. Projects will
receive a maximum peak: gust wind speed coverage up to 55
mph unless prior review is performed by Carlisle regarding
an extended wind speed coverage.

The IS-year Warranty is not available for projects with
cementitious wood fiber or gypsum decks.

Note: Due to various wind uplift coverages available,
these projects must be reviewed by Carlisle prior to
bid. preferrably in design phase, to detennine
system. enhancements that may be applicable.

C. A 20-year Total System Warranty is available for a charge
for projects utilizing minimum 6O-mil thick Sure-Weld
membrane and incorporating additional design
enhancements as outlined in "Attachment JV", 20-Year
Warranty Design Enhancements, in the Sure-Weld Design
Criteria Specification.

PART II PRODUCTS
2.91 GENERAL

The components of this roofing system are to be products of
Carlisle or accepted by Carlisle as compatible. The installation,
perfonnance or integrity of products by others. when seleeted by
the specifier and aeeepted by Carlisle, is not the responsibility
of Carlisle and is expressly disclaimed by the Carlisle Warranty.

600319

2.02 MEMBRANE

Sure-Weld white, gray or tan 45,60, 72, SO-mil thick reinforced
Thennoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) membrane is used for this system.
Field membrane sheets are 12', 10' or g' wide by 100' long based
on project conditions. Perimeter sheets are 6' wide (used with 12'
field sheets), 5' wide (used with 10' field sheets) or 4' wide (used
with 8' field sheets). For physical properties of membrane, refer to
page 4.

2.03 RELATED MATERIALS

Sure-Weld Non-Reinforced or Reinforced Flashing, Bonding
Adhesive, Cut Edge Sealant, Water Cut-Off Mastic, PT 304
Sealant, EP-95 Spicing Cement, Weathered Membrane Cleaner,
Molded Pocket Sealant, Heat Weldable Walkway Pads, Pre-
Molded Inside/Outside Comers, Pipe Flashings, Curb Wraps and
Sealant Pockets.

PARTill EXECUTION
3.01 GENERAL

A. When feasible, begin the application at the highest point of
the highest rooflevel and work: to the lowest point to prevent
moisture infiltration and to minimize construction traffic on
completed sections. This will include completion of all
flashings, terminations and daily seals.

8. Follow criteria outlined in the "Design Criteria" section to
prepare the roof deck or the existing substrate prior to the
application of the new roofing system.

3.02 ROOF DECK CRITERIA

A. Proper substrate shall be provided by the building owner.
The structure shall be sufficient to withstand nonna1
construction loads and live loads.

8. Defects in the roof deck: must be reported and documented to
the specifier, general contractor and building owner for
assessment. The Carlisle Authorized Applicator sha11 not
proceed with insta1lation unless defects are corrected.

C. Acceptable decks and the applicable Carlisle Fasteners:

1.
