The laminated glass was fabricated from two sheets of 3/16" <br /> thick clear annealed glass and a 0.090" thick Dupont PVB interlayer. The insulating <br /> glass was set from the exterior against a butyl sealant and secured with rigid vinyl <br /> glazing beads. <br /> Reinforcement: The lock stile and both meeting stiles contained a roll- formed steel <br /> reinforcement (Reference Drawing No. 17011). <br /> Tire fallowing descriptions apply to all specimens <br /> Finish: All PVC was white. <br /> Frame Construction: The frame was constructed of extruded PVC with coped and <br /> mechanically secured corner construction. Each comer contained a foam gasket and was <br /> secured with five #8 x 2 -1/2" long screws, and back-sealed with a silicone sealant. A <br /> snap -in, extruded aluminum roller track was located at the interior sill track. A formed <br /> aluminum threshold was attached to the exterior sill track at the operable panel with three <br /> #8 x 3/4" long screws, evenly spaced. A rigid PVC fixed lite support was located at the <br /> exterior sill track at the fixed panel, and sealed with a silicone sealant Extruded aluminum <br /> panel supports were located at the head and sill at the fixed panel, and at the head of the <br /> operable panel. Each aluminum panel support was secured using three #8 x 1 -1/2" long <br /> screws, evenly spaced. <br /> Panel Construction: The extruded PVC panels were of mitered and welded corner <br /> construction. Each meeting stile utilized a snap -in rigid PVC interlock adapter. Each <br /> adapter was secured with five #6 x 3/4" long screws, evenly spaced.
