This project will not be allowed to move forward until comments are addressed <br /> below, particularly the secondary exit issue. Paying for permit, contractor acknowledges <br /> complying with the following items below. <br /> Should anyone have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Fire Marshal's <br /> office. <br /> 1. NFPA 101, Chapter 7.5.2 states that access through kitchens, storerooms, <br /> work rooms or similar spaces subject to locking shall not be allowed unless <br /> permitted for the occupancy by Chapter 18, 19, 22, or 23. Business occupancy <br /> is Chapter 38, therefore not allowing this exit to be access through an office or <br /> break room. <br /> ?. Watch the use of dead end corridors. They shall not exceed 20'. Secondary <br /> exits shall be installed to elirninate those types of corridors. (NFPA 101, <br /> Chapter 38.2.5.2.2) <br /> 3. Provide UL documentation for fire rated corridor assembly (walls and <br /> ceiling). <br /> 4. Where any electrical or mechanical penetrates the rated ceiling assembly or <br /> corridor, fixtures shall be rated for that use and installed to maintain the <br /> rating. Mechanical shall have tire dampers. Provide documentation for this. <br /> 5. No storage allowed in attic space without providing proper fire separations. <br /> 6. Secondary exits shall have panic hardware. Install smoke detectors that are <br /> hardwired with battery backup in any storage related areas. Detectors shall be <br /> tied together. <br />
