Positive pressure was applied
first, and then negative pressure. Test pressures were based on a 15' mean roof height for 110 mph fastest -
mile wind speed (130 mph 3- second gust) with 5' in the Edge Strip.
Test Procedure
Step 1. Preload the door to 50% of the Design Pressure and hold for 10 seconds.
Step 2. Unload the door for 1 to 5 minutes.
Step 3. Load the door to 100% of the Design Pressure and hold for 33 seconds.
Step 4. Unload the door for 1 to 5 minutes.
Step 5. Load the door to 150% of the Design Pressure (which equals 100% of the Test Pressure) and
hold for 10 seconds.
Positive Pressure (Load Applied on Exterior Face of Door)
Preload Pressure + 14.8 psf Design Pressure + 29.5 psf Test Pressure + 45.3 psf
Negative Pressure (Load Applied on Interior Face of Door)
Preload Pressure - 14.8 psf Design Pressure - 29.5 psf Test Pressure - 45.3 psf
Observations
No failures occurred as a result of the noted loadings. The door remained operable after both tests.
,Summary
The 16' x 7' Model 1500D as described on Drawing SBC -580 -019 meets or exceeds the testing criteria as
described above. By comparison to the construction of the 16' x 7' Model 1500D, the following doors also
meet or exceed the testing criteria, as shown in the attached calculations:
- Modq4 of the following widths and heights: 15'-8", 15'-6", 15'-0" , 14'-0", 12'-0" and
1Q;a'Owi -6 " and 8' -0" high.
Sub h ..
i
STRUC7o a ` s `' 0. q $
Thomas L' %
President ' x ' 1 •• , 1 it kt∎to r
Florida PE 0048579
STRUCTURAL SOLUTIONS, P.A.
