Joseph H. Dixon, Jr. P.F. P1. No. 7768 Evaluation Report: ER- 09 -00p3 March : ;009
Five styles of doors are presented in this report. This includes two types of Model 501 /502, two
types of Model 651 and one type of lvlodel 652. Style variations may include door width, guide
geometry, anchorage size and spacing, and wind load rating, windlocks, or any combination.
Each style is described in detail on a drawing for that style. The drawing number is coded for the
Model No., the rated design wind pressure for the test width, and the opening width of the test
door in inches. For example, the Drawing No. 501/502 -30 -104 identifies the particular style to be
Model 501/502, rated design wind pressure of the test door is 30 psf, and the test door opening
width is 104 inches (8' -8 "). The design pressures for other widths are determined by comparative
analysis with the test door. The particular guide geometry and attachment method is fully
described on the drawing. Maximum door heights are shown on the drawing.
The five styles of doors covered by this report are described in detail on the following
L' S Door drawings:
Drawing No. 501/502-30-104, dated 02/27/09
Drawing No. 501 /502 -42 -120, dated 02/27/09
Drawing No. 651 -28 -240, dated 02/25/09
Drawing No. 651 -37 -192, dated 02/27/09
Drawing No. 652 -30 -144, dated 02/27/09
Technical Documentation:
The tested models were tested at Certified Testing Laboratories, Orlando, Florida. These tests were
conducted following the procedures of ASTM E330 -02, Structural Performance of Exterior
Windows, Curtain Walls, and Doors by Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference. The acceptance
criteria were in accordance with ANSI/DASMA 108 -02 Standard Method for Testing Sectional
Garage Doors: Determination of Structural Performance Under Uniform Static Air Pressure
Difference. The following test reports, signed and sealed by R. Patel, P.E. cover the tested door
models contained in this report:
• Test Report No.: CTLA 1927W -1, date 01/14/09, Model 501/502 - 30,+28 / -30 psf
• Test Report No.: CTLA 1927W, date 01/14/09, Model 652 -30, +28 / -30 psf
• Test Report No.: CTLA 1956W, date 02/27/09, Model 651 -28, +26 / -28 psf
• Test Report No.: CTLA 1956W -1, date 02/27/09, Model 651 -37, +37 / -37 psf
An additional style, Model 501/502-42, DWG 501/502 -42 -120, dated 02/27/09 is included.
Design pressures for this door were determined by comparative analysis with Model 652 -30 -144.
The calculations were prepared by Joseph H. Dixon, Jr. P.E., and dated 03/02/09.
.
 ' H..
w 4
Pag: 2 of 4 _ ' 0
C.\Consulting \Clicnt \I ] S Doori29006a Eva] Rcpart ER- 09- 0003.doc
