You have applied for a permit under ari exempti-oa to that law. The exe�ption allows you, as the owner of' yovr property, to act as your own contractor with cer+=;*+ restrictions even though you do not have a license. You must_provide direct onsite supervisioa of the constructioa yourself. You may build or improve a one-family or twv-family residence or a fatm outbuildiag. You may also build or improve a commercial buildiag, provided your costs do not e�cceed $25,000. The building or residence must be for your own use or occupancy. It may not be built or su2�stantially improved for sale or lease. If you se7:1 or lease a bvilding you have built or suY�stan�t3.a11y i�proved yourself within 1 year after the construction is ca�plete, the 1aw will pres�e•that you built or substaritially improved •i�f for sale ar laase, which is a violation of thi.s exemptioa. You may not hire an ualic�s�d person to act as your contsactor or to supervise people �vorking on your buildiag. It is your r�sponsibility to make sure that people employed by you have liceases res by state law and by county or mun.icipal liceasing o*�� *+�*+ces . You may not delegate the responsibility for supervising work to a liceused contractor who is not. licensed to perform the �aork be.ing doae.
