The e�cemption allows you, as the owner of your property, to act as your own contractor with certaia restrictions even though you do not have a license. You must provide direct onsite supervision of the constniction yourself. You may build or improve a one-family or t�vo-family resideuce or a farm outbvilding. You may also build or improne a commercial buildi.ng, provided your costs do aot exceed $25,D00. The building or residence must be for yovr own use or occupaacy. It may not be built or substautially impr�ved for sale or lease. If you sell or lease a building you have bvilt or substaat3.a11y improved yourself within 1 year after the constxucticn is complete, the 1a�v will pres�e•that you built or substantially improved•if for sale or loase, which is a violation of this exemption. You may not hire au ualic�rasad person to act as yovr contractor or to supervise people working on your building. It is your responsibility to make sure that people e�ployed by you have licenses required by state law and by county or municipal licensing ordi.nazices.
