The exemption allows you, as the owner of' your property, to act as your own contractor with certaia restrictions even though you do not have a license. You must provide direct onsite supervisioa of the construction yovrself. You may build or improve a one-family or twc-f'amily resideace or a fa� outbuilding. You may also build or improve a commercial building, provided your costs do not exceed $25,000. The building or resideace must be for yovr own use or occupancy. St ma.y not be built or substantially improved for sale or lease. You may not delegate the responsibility for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not. licensed to perform the worlc beiag daae. Any parsoa working on yovs building who is aot liceused must work under your direct supexvision and must be employed by you, which meaas that you must deduct F.2.C.A. and withholding tax and provide workers' compensation for that employse, a11 as prescribed by law.
