You may also build <br /> or improve a commerci.al bvilding, provided your costs do not exceed $25,000. <br /> The building or resideace must be for yovr own use or occupancy. st may not <br /> be bvil�t or substanti.ally i�proved for sale or lease. If you se]:1 or lease a <br /> bvilding you have bvilt or su2�stantially improved yourself within 1 year after <br /> the constxzictioa is complete, the law will presume .that you .built or <br /> substantially improved if for sale or lease, which is a violation of this <br /> ezemption. You may not hire an ualicensad person to act as yovr contractor or <br /> to supervise people wosking on your building. 2t is your responsibili:ty to <br /> make sure that people smployed by you have liceases re?,;red by state law and <br /> by county or municipal liceasing ordivances. You may not delegate the <br /> responsibility for supervisa.ng work to a liceased contractor who is not. <br /> licensed to perform the mork being dnae.
