You must provide direct onsite supervision o� the construction yourself. You may bvild or improve a one-family or two-family residence or a f'arm outbuilding. You may also build or improve a commercial building, provided your costs do aot exceed $25,000. The building or residence must be for yovt own use or occupancy. It may not b� built or substantially �.mproved for sale or lease. If you sell or lease a bvilding you have bvilt or subst�xitially improved yourself within 1 year after the construction is co�plete, the lam wi11 presume �that you built or substasitially improved �if for sale or lease, which is a violation of this exemption. You may not hire an unliceased person to act as your contractor or to supervise people working on your building. It is yovr responsibility to make sure that people P�ployed by you have licenses rez,;red by state law and by county or municipal licensing ordznaaces.
