That the owner sha11 comply with al1 City, State and Federal laws in reCJc-srd to <br /> social security, workman's c�+��*+�atioa, lien 1aws, etc. , where applicable. <br /> 8. That the owner shall comply with a11 the safety codes issued by the Florida <br /> Iadustrial Comms.ssion. <br /> 9. State 1aw rern�ires constsuction to be done by licensed contractors. You have <br /> applied for a permit under an exemptioa to that law. The exemption allows <br /> you, as the owner of yovr propE+rty, to act as your own contractor with certain <br /> restrictions evea though you do not hane a license. You must provide direct <br /> onsite supervision o�' the constn3ction yourself. You may bvild or i�pr�ve a <br /> one-family or two-family residence or a farm outbuilding. You may also build <br /> or improve a commercial �+,;i�;rq, p=ovided your costs do not exceed $25,000. <br /> R�he building or resideace must be for your own use or occupancy. It may not <br /> be built or substaatially improved for sale or lease. If you sell or lease a <br /> building you have built or substantially im�r�ved yourself with.in 1 year after <br /> the construction is complete, the law w3.3.1 presume that you built or <br /> substantially i.mproved •if for sale or lease, which is a violati.on of this <br /> exemptioa. You may not hire an ualicensad pErson to act as your contractor or <br /> to supErvise people working on your builcling. It is yovr responsibility to <br /> make sure that people P�ployed by you 2zave licenses required by state law and <br /> by county or municipal licensing ordiaances. You may not delegate the <br /> responsibility for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not <br /> licensed to pesform the work being done.
