When the state did begin the <br /> process of product approvals, the Building Code Commission was approached by the solar <br /> industry to determine if statewide product approval was advisable and they advised <br /> against it for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the unique design of every <br /> system (including slope and orientation) and the necessary priority of other products <br /> that were in dire need of statewide product approval. There is no acute category or <br /> subcategory in which to place the solar panels (Florida Administrative Code, Chapter <br /> 61G20-3.001) .
