That the owner sha11 comply with all the safety codes issued by the Florida <br /> Iadustrial Commission. <br /> 9. State 1aw re?+,;res construction to be done by licensed contractors. You have <br /> applied for a permit under an exemption to that law. �he exemption allows <br /> you, as the owner of your propesty, to act as your own contractor with certain <br /> restsictions evan though you do not have a license. You must provide clirect <br /> onsite supervision of the constructioa yourself. You ma.y build or improve a <br /> one-family or two-family resideace or a farm outbuilding. You ma.y also build <br /> or improne a commercial building, provided your costs do not exceed $25,000. <br /> The building or.residence must be for yovr own use or oceupancy. St may not <br /> be btii.lt or substaritially improved for sale or lease. If you sel:l or lease a <br /> building you have built or substantially �.mproved yourself within 1 year after <br /> the constx�iction is complete, the law will presume .that you built or <br /> substantially improved if f'or sale or lease, which is a violation of this <br /> E7Cemption. You may not hire ati unlicesisad person to act as your contractor or <br /> to supervise people working on yovs building. It is your responsibility to <br /> make sure that people e�ployed by you have lic�ses re�,;red by state law and <br /> by county or municipal licensing ordinances. You may not delegate the <br /> responsibility for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not. <br /> licensad to perform the work being dnne.
