That prior to final inspection any additional fees, including reinspection fees, must be paid ia ful1. A written request from this office shall constitute an official notice -to pay additional fees. 7. That the owner sha11 co�ply with a11 City, Sta.te and Eederal laws in regard to social security, workman's compensatian, li� laws, etc_ , where applicable. B. You have applied for a ppT+�+�t under an exemption to that law. The exemption allows you, as the owner of' yovr prOp2Sty, to act as your owa contractor witb certain restrictions enen though you do not have a license. You must provide direct onsite supervision of' the construction yourself. You may build or improve a one-family or two-family residence or a farm outl�uilding. You may also build or improve a commercial buildiag, provided yovr costs do not exceed $25,000. The building or residence must be for your own use or occupancy. It may aot be bLU.lt or substantially �.mproved for sale or lease. If you se]:l or lease a building you have built os substantially i�proved yourself within 1 year after the construction is complete, the law will presume •that you .built or substantially improved if for sale or lease, which is a violation of this E]CP�Ptioa. You may not hire an unlicensed person to act as yovr contsactor or to supervise people working on yovr building. It is your responsibility to make sure that people P�ployed by you have licenses re�,;red by state law and by county or municipal licensing ordinances. You may not delegate the responsibility for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not. licensad to perform the mork beiag doa�. Ariy persoa working on yovr building who is not licensed must work uncier your direct supervision and must be �ployed by you, which means that you must deduct F.I.C_A. and withholding tax and provide workers' compensatioa for that P�ployee, all as prescribed by law.
