BUILT" PURPOSES TO SIEMENS.
12. THE 120voc POWER ELECTRICAL WORK SUPPLYING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM PANELS MUST COMPLY WITH
ARTICLE 725 AND 760 OF NFPA 70 (2008 EDITION), N.E.C. AND NFPA 72; IN REFERENCE TO
DEDICATED BRANCH POWER SOURCES. 120vac POWER SHALL NOT BE APPLIED TO FIRE ALARM
PANEL WITHOUT DIRECT SUPERVISION OF FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN.
SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
13. THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL SHALL NOT BE USED TO POWER ANY UNAUTHORIZED EXTERNAL
DEVICE PER NFPA 72; DETECTORS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED UNTIL AFTER THE CONSTRUCTION
CLEAN -UP OF ALL TRADES IS COMPLETE AND FINAL. EXCEPTION: WHERE REQUIRED BY THE
AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION FOR PROTECTION DURING CONSTRUCTION.
14. DETECTORS THAT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED PRIOR TO FINAL CLEAN -UP BY ALL TRADES SHALL BE
CLEANED OR REPLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 72 (2007 EDITION) CHAPTER 7. FAILURE TO
COMPLY WITH THIS NOTE WILL VOID ALL WARRANTIES.
15. FIRE ALARM COMPONENTS AND DEVICES MUST BE RATED FOR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY IN THE ENVIRONMENT
IN WHICH IT IS LOCATED.
16, DAMPER MOTOR AND FAN SHUTDOWN CONNECTIONS (IF ANY) ARE TO BE COORDINATED IN FIELD WITH HVAC
CONTRACTOR.
17. FIRE ALARM POWER SUPPLIES AND ALL REMOTE SUPPLIES MUST BE CONNECTED TO BUILDING POWER OR
COLD -WATER GROUND VIA 1 GREEN #12 THHN OR EQUIVALENT.
18. ALL SURGE /TRANSIENT SUPPRESSORS MUST BE CONNECTED TO BUILDING COLD -WATER GROUND. USE SURGE
SUPPRESSION ON ALL CIRCUIT CONDUCTORS LEAVING AND ENTERING THE BUILDING. SURGE SUPPRESSION SHALL
BE SUITABLE FOR THE INTENDED USE. CIRCUITS SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM INDUCED TRANSIENT VOLTAGE.
19. VERIFY MOUNTING LOCATIONS FOR THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL, REMOTE PANEL, SIGNAL EXTENDER, AND
ANNUNCIATOR PANEL WITH ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR.
20. THE TRI -D IS A DUAL INPUT MODULE WITH A SINGLE ADDRESS. THE FACP ANNUNCIATES EACH INPUT SEPARATELY.
21. HEAT DETECTORS MUST BE WITHIN 24" OF SPRINKLER HEAD IN ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM. SMOKE DETECTORS IN
THE ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOM SHALL RECALL THE ELEVATOR TO THE DESIGNATED LANDING. IF THE ELEVATOR
MACHINE ROOM IS AT THE DESIGNATED LANDING THEN THE ELEVATOR SHALL BE RECALLED TO AN ALTERNATE
LANDING.
22. WHERE AUDIBLE APPLIANCE ARE INSTALLED TO PROVIDE SIGNALS FOR SLEEPING AREAS, THEY SHALL HAVE A
SOUND LEVEL OF AT LEAST 15 dB ABOVE THE AVERAGE AMBIENT SOUND LEVEL OR 5 dB ABOVE THE MAXIMUM
SOUND LEVEL HAVING A DURATION OF AT LEAST 60 SECONDS OR A LEVEL OF AT LEAST 75 dBA, WHICHEVER IS
GREATER, U E P L W L E I O G PI D S EPIN F, SING THE A- WEIGHTED SCALE
(dBA). rA SOUND LEVEL OF 75dBA SHALL BE ACHIEVED AT ALL SLEEPING AREAS. Q
23. CIRCU'TS LEAVING THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL AND ANY REMOTE PANELS MUST BE INSTALLED TO BE PROTECTED
EXCEPT FOR THE ACTIONS AS DESCRIBED IN NOTE (E).
3. ACTIVATION OF ANY SUPERVISORY DEVICE WITHIN THE SYSTEM SHALL CAUSE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS AND INDICATIONS:
A. ACTIVATE THE SUPERVISORY LIGHT AND SOUNDER AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND ANNUNCIATORS, IF ANY.
B. DISPLAY A CUSTOM MESSAGE DESCRIBING THE LOCATION OF THE DEVICE INITIATING THE EVENT.
C. ANY DUCT MOUNTED SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL, CAUSE THE SHUTDOWN OF THE ASSOCIATED AIR
HANDLER OR CLOSURE OF THE ASSOCIATED DAMPER. SYSTEM WILL SHOW A SUPERVISORY ALARM.
D. ACTIVATE DIALER TO CALL OFF -SITE MONITORING STATION.
4. ACTIVATION OF ANY TROUBLE CONDITION SHALL CAUSE THE FOLLOWING EVENTS, ACTIONS AND INDICATIONS.
A. DISPLAY A CUSTOM MESSAGE DESCRIBING THE TROUBLE CONDITION AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL CONTROL PANEL AND STORE
THE EVENT IN THE HISTORY LOG OF THE PANEL.
