That the owner sha11 comply with all the safety codes issued by the Florida <br /> Sndustrial C�+++�ssion. <br /> 9. State 1aw reC3l�ires constniction to be done by licensed contractors. You have <br /> applieci for a permit under an gxe�pticn to that law. �The exemption allows <br /> you, as the owner of' yovr propPSty, to act as your own coatractor with certain <br /> restricti.ons even though you do not have a license. You must provide direct <br /> onsite supervision o� the construction yourself. You may build or improve a <br /> one-family or two-family residence or a farm outbuilding. You �ay also build <br /> or improve a commercial building, provid�d yovr costs do not exceed $25,000. <br /> The l�uilding or.residence must be for yovs own use or occupancy. =t may not <br /> be built or substantially improved for sale or lease. If you se].l or lease a <br /> building you have built or substatztially improved yoursplf within 1 year after <br /> the constrtictioa is complete, the law wi.l1 pres�e •that you .built or <br /> substantially improved •if for sale or laase, which is a violation of this <br /> eXP�pt�.on. You may not hire an unlicensed person to act as your contsactor or <br /> to supervise people working on yovr building. 2t is your resgonsibility to <br /> make sure that people e�ployed by you ha.ve licenses rec�,;red by state law and <br /> by county or muziicipal licensing ordiaances. You may not delegate the <br /> responsibility f'or supervising work to a licensed contractar who is not. <br /> licensed to perform the mork beiag doaa.
