s � , <br /> ZEPHYR�-IILLS HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOAI�NIINUTES <br /> � A Historic Preservation Board Meeting was held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in the Robert <br /> H. Johnson Council Chambers of the Municipal Building. Chairman Geiger called the meeting to <br /> order at 6:00 p.m. as a quorum was present. Roll call was taken. Present were members John <br /> Geiger, Jason Aiken, Rose Hale, Marian Riopelle and Tracy Sullivan. Staff Present was Todd <br /> � Vande Berg. Main Street Liason Gina Granger was unable to.attend. <br /> The minutes from the March 18, meeting was not available. <br /> NEW BUSINESS -, <br /> 1 -A lication for a Historic District"Geitificate�of A ro riateness" submitted �' �'Ch'arles Froc <br /> fo�proper�Ev.located.at 5529 8�'`Street;:::�(Replacement�of roofl � � � <br /> � Todd Vande Berg introduced Mr. Proctor wfio is the applicant for the replacement roof. He <br /> explained that his roof has never been replaced and is badly leaking. He had found another type of <br /> metal roofing that came in various colors and his wife wanted a blue roof. After discussion with the <br /> Board members he understood and agreed that he must replace his roof with a like metal roofing <br /> material that is 5V crimp metal. � <br /> - Rose Hale�moved to approve applicant's Certificate of Appropriateness to replace his roof <br /> with 5V Crimp with the Acrylic Coated Galvalume (color). Motion was seconded by Tracy Sullivan. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> (1) Historical Schoolhouse located at 5050 16th Street <br /> Mr. Vande Berg explained that a structure located at this address has been destroyed by <br /> weather and termites and is to be thought to be the first school house in this area (first school house <br /> of Abbott Station in the early 1900's). It is presently outside of the Historic District but was moved <br /> from 9�' Street between 3�d and 4th Avenues many years ago. There is nothing that can be done to � <br /> save it after all these years of neglect and it is scheduled for demolition. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M. <br />
