<br />ORDINANCE NO.: 1469-23
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, LEVYING THE MILLAGE RATE FOR
<br />FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 FOR THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS.
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, has timely adviscd the
<br />Pasco County Property Appraiser's office that it proposed to levy a millage rate of 6.25 mills,
<br />which is more than the rolled back rate of 5.6768 mills computed pursuant to Florida Statute
<br />200.065(1) by 10.10%; and
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida did on September 12,
<br />2023 conduct a Public Hearing and a second Public Hearing on September 25, 2023, and following
<br />the second Public Hearing, did adopt a tentative budget of One Hundred and Six Million, Four
<br />Hundred Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred Ninety -Nine Dollars and No Cents ($106,470,399.00).
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida did advertise on
<br />September 21, 2023, its intent to adopt a final budget and millage rate during a Public Hearing
<br />held September 25, 2023; and
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, did after receiving input
<br />from the public, adopt a final budget of One Hundred and Six Million, Four Hundred Seventy
<br />Thousand, Three Hundred Ninety -Nine Dollars and No Cents ($106,470,399.00).
<br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills,
<br />Florida, sitting in regular session that:
<br />1. The millage rate to be levied for ad valorem taxes within the municipality of the
<br />City of Zephyrhills for the 2023-2024 fiscal year shall be 6.25 mills.
<br />2. This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage on the second reading and
<br />signing by the Mayor.
