'alternate'. or other qualifying terms are used, those Items shall be approved by Building Agent/Tenant and/or Architect. <br />5. Existing materials or Items scheduled to remain that are damaged by construction shall be repaired, patched, and ref InIshed to the nearest <br />Intersection, restoring surface to It's original condition. <br />6. Contractor shall protect all existing walls, doors, frames, surfaces, fixtures, finishes, etc. from damage during demolition and construction. Existing <br />materials to be removed shall be coordinated with Owner to verify if Owner wishes to salvage some. Relocation of salvaged materials, once <br />removed, to be by the Building Agent/Tenont's forces <br />7. Contractor shall verify and be responsible for all dimensions and Job site conditions related to this work. Any discrepancy In dimensions or <br />special modlflcatlons required due to field conditions shall be reported to the Architect for ciariflcatlon <br />8. All gypsum board in partitions around 'wet use areas' ( I.e.: Toilet Room(s), Laundry Room(s), Shower Room(s), etc.) shall be of molsture-resistant <br />type, and these partitions are to be sound -rated. <br />14. All studs, furring and miscellaneous metal accessories In walls having molsture-reslstont gypsum board are to be of galvanized metal. <br />l5. All fire-roted partitions are to extend to deck above, and have all volds packed between the deck and top of wall with fire safeing Insulation. <br />Floor track Is to be set in a bed of sealant. Joints In gypsum board partitions are to be taped over the full height of the partition. <br />16. Fire extinguisher cabinets mounting height to be 2'-6' from floor to bottom of receptacle. Top of extinguisher to be 4'-0' AFF, max. <br />17. All non-fire-roted partitions are to extend 4' above suspended ceiling grid. All such partitions are to be braced back to the structural <br />decking or Joists with suitable sub -framing at 48' o.c., max. Provide additional framing, bracing and blocking for all required cabinetry <br />and equipment. <br />18. Not all listed GENERAL NOTES may apply, nor ore they all-inclusive for every work situation. Excellence, throughout the Job, does apply. <br />19. Each new FIRE WALL, FIRE BARRIER, FIRE PARTITION, SMOKE BARRIER, SMOKE PARTITION, or any other new wall <br />required to have protected openings shall be permanently identified with signs or stenciling above any <br />decorative ceiling and In concealed spaces with the words,'FIRE AND SMOKE BARRIER - PROTECTED ALL OPENINGS', <br />or similar language. Sign or stenciling to include UL Design number of partition. Such signs or stenciling shall be in 4-Inch <br />high letters, Vp-Inch stroke, and not more than 15-feet on center.
