Where partitions are removed, patch floors, walls and ceilings with finish materials to match <br /> � ' existing and/or replace both areas with new materials and finishes approved by Architect. <br /> � <br /> 1. Where removal of partitions results in adjacent spaces becoming one, rework floors and <br /> � , ceilings to provide smooth planes without breaks, steps or bulkheads. <br /> 2. Where extreme change of plane (2" or more) occurs, request instructions from the <br /> Architect as to the method of making transition. <br /> , ; B. Trim and refinish existing doors as necessary to clear new floors. <br /> I <br /> ' 3�3 DAMAGED SURFACES <br /> iA. Patch and replace any portion of an existing finished surface which is found to be damaged, <br /> , lifted, discolored or shows other imperfections,with matching material. <br /> , 1. Provide adequate support of substrate prior to patching the finish. <br />� ' � 2. Refinish patched portions of painted or coated surfaces in a manner to produce uniform <br /> color and texture over the entire surface. <br /> � 3. When existing surface finish cannot be matched, refinish the entire surface to the nearest <br />' , intersections. <br /> � <br /> 3'.4 TRANSITION FROM EXISTING TO NEW <br />' ' A. When new work abuts or finishes flush with existing work, make a smooth and worlmianlike <br /> � transition.
