The building official shall require that an energy performance level(EPL) <br /> disP ay card be completed and certified by the builder to be accurate and correct before finaf approva!of the bui(ding for occupancy.Florida law <br /> [Se�tion 553.9085,Fiorida Stafues�requires the EPL display card to be included as an addendum to each sales contract for both presold and <br /> non resold residential buildings.The EPL display oard cdntains information indicating the energy pertormance level ahd efficiencies af components <br /> installed in a dwe!ling unit.The building officia!shall verify that the EPl..display card completed and signed by the builder accuraiely reflecis the pians <br /> andi{specifications submitted to demonstrate compliance far the building.A copy flf the EPL disp{ay card can be found in Appendix G. <br /> � R402.4 Air leakage(Mandatory). The building thermal envelope shall be constructed to limit air leakage in accordance with the requirements of <br /> Sec}ions R402.1 through ft4d2.4.4. <br /> IIQ R402.4.1 Building thermal envelope. The building thermal envelope shall comply with Sections R402.4.1.1 and R402.8.1.2.The <br /> sealing methods between dissimilar materials sha!!ailow far differentia!expansion and coniraction. <br /> • R402.4.1.7 Installation. The components of the building thermal envelope as listed in Table R402.4 1.1 shall be installed in <br /> accordance with the manufacturer's lnstructions and the criteria listed in Table 402,4.1.1,as applicable to the method of consiruclion. <br /> Whare required by the code afficial,an appraved third party shall inspec#aI1 components and verify compliance. <br /> ■ R402.4.1.2 Testing. The building or dwelling unit shall be tested and veri�ed as having an air leakage rate of not exceeding 5 air <br /> changes per hour in Glimate Zones 1 and 2,and 3 air changes per haur in Glimate Zanes 3 through 8.Testing shall be conducted with <br /> a biawer door at a pressure of 0.2 inches w.g.(50 Pascals).Where required by the code official,testing shall be conducted by an <br /> approved third party.A written report of the results of the test shali be signed by the party conducting the test and provided to the code <br /> afficial.Testing shall be performed at any time after creation af aIl penefrations of#he bui(ding thermal envelope. <br /> During testing: <br /> 1 E�cierior windows and doors,fireplace and stave doors shali be closed,bui not sealed,beyond the intended weatherstripping or <br /> other infiltration control measures; - <br /> 2. Dampers including exhaust,intake,makeup air,backdraft and flue dampers shall be closed,but nat sealed beyond intended <br /> infiliraiion contro!measures; <br /> 3.In#erior daors,if installed at the time of the test,sha((be open; <br /> 4 E�erior doors for continuous ventflation systems and heat recovery ventilators shall be clased and sealed; <br /> 5.Neating and cooling systems,if installed at ihe time of the test,sha11 be turned off;and <br /> 6.Supply and return registers,if insta(ied at the time of the test,shall be fully open. <br /> �O R4Q2.4.2 Fireplaces. New wood-burning firepiacss shall have tight-fitting ffue dampers and outdoor combustion air. <br /> (� R402.4.3 Fenestration air leakage.Windows,skylights and sliding glass doors shall have an air infiltration rate of no more than 0.3 cfm <br /> per square foot(1.5 Us/m2),and swinging doors no more than 0.5 cfm.per square foot{2.6 Us/m2),when iested according to NFRG 400 or <br /> AAMAIWI7MAiCSA 10111.S.21A440 by an accredited,independant lat�oratary and Eisted and labeled by fhe manufacturer <br /> Exception: Site-built windows,skylights and daors. <br /> (� R4Q2.4.A Recassed lighting. Recessed luminaires installed in the bui(ding fherrnal envelape shall be sealed to(imit air leakage <br /> between conditioned and unconditioned spaces.All recessed luminaires shall be IG-rated and labeled as having an air leakage rate not <br /> more ihan 2.0 cfm(Q.944 Us)when tesied in accordance with ASTM E 283 at a 1.57 psf{�5 Pa)pressure differential.All recessed <br /> luminaires shall be sealed with a gasket or caulk between the housing and the interior wal(or ceiiing covering. <br /> � R403.1.1 Thermostat provision(Mandatory).
