Report of Concrete Slab Evaluation RE8cA Project No. 2825-15-023-SE-A
EcistinTKM Aviation Hangar June 27, 2017
• The concrete cores measurements revealed that the concrete slab thickness varied from
approximately 6.6 inches in the northwest portion to 4.7 inches in the eastern corner of
the building. Below is a summary of concrete cores collected from the slab.
}. _ ;"l...i P}'a " iff - ":',.M`;.:+: _
t.;" CQRE`ID' y Aeiage Heiaht(m) <AerageWidth(in:)°
 x } 1
. _.. ,. .. .. .. .. ..
6CORE-1 4.9 5 6
6CORE-2 6.25 5.6
6CORE-3 5.5 5 6
6CORE-4 6.6 5.6
6CORE-5 5.6 5 6
6CORE-6 4.7 5.6
3CORE-1 6.0 2.7
3CORE-2 6.6 2.7
3CORE-3 5.6 2.7
The combined concrete core thickness average was calculated to be 5.75 inches with a
standard deviation of+/-0.679 inches. The cores were transported to our laboratory for
further testing as needed. Representative pictures of the concrete cores are shown in
Appendia (Photos 9 to 21).
• Hand augers HA-1 through HA-4 were performed at the locations of 6CORE-1 through
6CORE-4, supplemented with DCP testing, to depths of 3.5 to 4 feet. The borings
generally encountered light orangish brown, medium dense to loose clayey sand (SC)
with occasional traces of limerock and an average equivalent N-value of 18 BPF, to a
depth of 1 to 1.5 feet below the soil surface, followed by grayish brown to very light
brown, loose to dense fine sand (SP) with an average equivalent N-value of 18 BPF to
boring termination. Groundwater was not encountered within the depths explored. Refer
to attached Hand Auger Soring Logs in the Appendix.
• Once representative samples of the soils were bagged and transported to laboratory for
classification and testing as needed, the holes were backfilled with soil cuttings and the
concrete core hole locations were repaired by a CANCO representa.tive.
4
