NL)CO COUN1 Y CLERK <br /> 04%117/00 11 :36 1 of 3 <br /> OR f11< 4344 PG 1552 <br /> ORDINANCE NO.: 749-00 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, <br /> PROVIDING FOR EXTREME EMERGENCY <br /> MEASURES IN CURTAILING NON ESSENTIAL <br /> USES" OF WATER, INCLUDING BUT NOT <br /> LIMITED TO, LAWN AND LANDSCAPING <br /> IRRIGATION AND WASHING OF VEHICLES; <br /> PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT AND <br /> PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; <br /> AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Zephyrhills is responsible to protect the public health, safety, and <br /> general welfare, and to minimize public and private losses due to the harmful effects of water <br /> shortages within the city limits of the City of Zephyrhills; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to the long term lack of significant rainfall, the level of water storage and <br /> ground water supplying the City and surrounding areas has become seriously low; and <br /> WHEREAS,the existence of water shortage conditions make it imperative and necessary that <br /> certain non essential uses of water be restricted or curtailed, and that available water sources be <br /> conserved in order to protect the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the City of <br /> Zephyrhills; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills finds that an extreme water shortage <br /> exists, that it is in the best interest of all users of water to curtail their use of the present water <br /> resources, and that failure to curtail use of the present water resources presents a serious threat to <br /> the public health, safety or welfare; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, <br /> Florida, sitting in regular meeting that: • <br /> SECTION 1: The recital clauses set forth above are hereby adopted and incorporated <br /> herein by reference. <br /> 1. Based upon the extreme emergency conditions, the following provisions shall be <br /> observed, followed and enforced within the city limits of the City of Zephyrhills. <br /> The following restrictions shall apply to all watering of lawns and landscaping found within <br /> the boundaries of the city limits of the City of Zephyrhills: <br /> A. Irrigation or established lawns and landscaping shall be permitted one(1)day per week <br /> as follows: <br /> i.
