• <br /> 4 <br /> U <br /> r .)9‘ <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 285 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS , FLORIDA, <br /> EXTENDING ITS CORPORATE POWERS , PURSUANT TO <br /> CHAPTER 180 , FLORIDA STATUTES ; PROVIDING FOR THE <br /> EXTENSION OF ITS PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM, SANITARY <br /> SEWER UTILITIES AND SERVICE SYSTEM AND GARBAGE <br /> COLLECTION UTILITY AND FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR <br /> THE PROTECTION OF PUBLIC HEALTH , SAFETY AND WELFARE; <br /> PROVIDING FOR BOUNDARIES ; PROVIDING FOR THE INCORPORA- <br /> TION OF CHAPTER 180 , FLORIDA STATUTES INTO CITY CODES , <br /> REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN <br /> CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, PRO- <br /> VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE . <br /> BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the City Council of the <br /> City of Zephyrhills , Florida, as follows: • <br /> SECTION 1 . EXTENSION OF POWERS . Pursuant to Chapter <br /> 180 , Florida Statutes , the City of Zephyrhills , Florida, hereby <br /> extends its corporate powers applicable to the accomplishment <br /> of the purposes of said Chapter 180 , Florida Statutes , outside its <br /> corporate limits within the area defined as follows : <br /> An area outside of the corporate limits of the City <br /> of Zephyrhills , Florida, within five miles of the <br /> intersection of the centerline of Fifth Avenue and <br /> U. S . 301 in Zephyrhills , Florida, less and not includ- <br /> ing- however any area therein which is now within the <br /> corporate limits of any other incorporated C ity or <br /> town. Said area is hereinafter referred to as the <br /> "extended area" . <br /> SECTION 2 . AUTHORIZED ACTIVITIES . The additional powers <br /> may include the exercise, control , extension and new construction <br /> of the city water system, the garbage and trash collect-ion system, <br /> the sanitary sewer system and the fire protection system. Said <br /> exercise controlled extension and/or new construction taking place <br /> in the "extended area" is necessary and desirable for the promotion <br /> of the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens in the <br /> extended area. — <br /> SECTION 3 .
