System Specifications <br /> MECHANICALLY ATTACHED TPO Revised March 2.615 <br /> 3.08 Sheet Attachment <br /> A. Perimeter Enhancements <br /> 1. When installing the Mechanically Attached Mule-Hide TOO Roofing system, <br /> fastening enhancements must lie installed at.the perimeters and completed with <br /> Mule-Hide approved fastening systems at the predetermined spacing. The <br /> Perimeter Enhancements are dependent on building height,wind zone location, <br /> and warranty duration. See Technical Bulletin TP6-MA02-2006 for required <br /> enhancements: <br /> Perimeter areas shall be determined by one of the following methods: <br /> a. Mule-Hide Technical Bulletin TPO�MA-02-2006 <br /> b. For Factory Mutual insured buildings,followw guidelines in FM's:Loss <br /> Prevention Data Sheet 1-29. Perimeter area for all.exterior roof <br /> edges/parapet walls is calculated by taking 40%of the roof height or <br /> 10%of the.lesser:plan,diriehsion,whichever is.less. The calculated <br /> distance is the area into the field of,the roof;from the exterior edge/wall, <br /> which shall be included in the enhanced fastening area, rounding off to <br /> the next full enhancement dimension:as needed. Contact Mule-Hide <br /> Warranty Department for fastener spacing for compliance with FM 1-60 <br /> and 1-90 requirements. <br /> C. Parapet walls of a height of 8 feet or greater do not require Perimeter <br /> Enhancements. <br /> d. Parapets,walls and expansion joints separating adjoining roofs of the <br /> same elevation or roofs that are at a higher elevation than the roof being <br /> installed are considered interior walls and do not require Perimeter <br /> Enhancements. Sheet Mule-Hide Details#MHT-UN-108A and MHT- <br /> UNA 08B <br /> e. Roof edges and parapet walls separating other roofs areas that are at a <br /> lower elevation than the roof_being installed are considered exterior <br /> edges/parapets when the difference in elevation.is three feet or more <br /> and shall require the installation of Perimeter Enhancements. Sheet <br /> Mule-Hide Details#MHT-UN-108A and MHT-UN-108B <br /> f. For roofs of heights of 70 feet or greater and located in wind zones <br /> higher..than 80 mph or for projects requesting enhanced wind speed <br /> warranties, Mule-Hide requires that FM guidelines be.followed when <br /> determining the extent of the perimeter enhancements.. <br /> 2. Methods for Perimeter Enhancements <br /> Perimeter Enhancements can be formed by using individual 4'or 6'wide sheets, <br /> by subdividing 8', 10', or 12.'wide field sheets using 10"wide Pressure-Sensitive <br /> RUSS strip,.or by installing rows of seam fastening plates through the top of the <br /> membrane and patching with appropriate materials. <br /> a. Individual Perimeter Sheets Method <br /> 1.
