DONNELLY ENGINEERING ELECTRICAL <br /> 1.4 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Shop Drawings: Provide all equipment cabinet dimensions and wiring diagrams as required. <br /> B. Product Data: Provide all applicable options, accessories, and interrupting or withstanding <br /> current ratings. Provide all electrical characteristics and data as required to show compliance <br /> with these specifications. <br /> C. Testing: Provide test results from UL 1008 as listed above. <br /> 1.5 PRODUCT HANDLING <br /> A. Equipment Storage: The Contractor shall store items provided under contract specifications <br /> until the time of installation. Such storage shall meet the requirements of the system supplier <br /> and be accepted by the Engineer. The stored equipment shall not be delivered to the site until <br /> it is to be installed. <br /> B. Protection: Use all means necessary to protect the materials of this section before, during <br /> and after installation and to protect the installed work and materials from the activities of all <br /> other trades. <br /> C. Replacement: In the event of damage, immediately make all repairs and replacements <br /> necessary to the acceptance of the Engineer and at no cost to the Owner. <br /> PART2 -PRODUCT <br /> 2.1 GENERAL <br /> A. Type: Provide 3 pole automatic transfer switches as shown on plans, with full load current <br /> and voltage rating as shown, 60 Hz normal and emergency. <br /> B. Load Types: The transfer switch shall be capable of switching all classes of load, and shall <br /> be rated for continuous duty when installed in a nonventilated enclosure that is constructed in <br /> accordance with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Standard UL-1008. <br /> C. Accessories: All relays, timers, control wiring and accessories to be front accessible. <br /> 2.2 COMPONENTS <br /> A. Features: Provide the following transfer switch features; <br /> 1. The transfer switch shall be double throw, actuated by a single electrical operator <br /> momentarily energized; and mechanically connected to the transfer mechanism by a <br /> simple over center type linkage with a total transfer time not to exceed 1/6 of a second. <br /> 2. The mechanism shall be a high speed actuator, capable of transferring successfully in <br /> either direction with 70 percent of rated voltage applied to the switch terminals. <br /> 3. Circuit breaker switches are not acceptable. <br /> 4. Mechanical interlocking of transfer switches to prevent unintended interconnection of <br /> the normal and alternate sources of power. <br /> 5. A means of safe manual operation of the transfer switch. <br /> B. Main Contacts: The normal and emergency contacts shall be positively interlocked <br /> mechanically and electrically to prevent simultaneous closing. Main contacts shall be fully <br /> rated,arc quenching, mechanically locked in both the normal and emergency positions without <br /> the use of hooks, latches, magnet, or springs and shall be renewable silver-tungsten alloy <br /> protected by arcing contacts,with magnetic blowouts on each pole.
