A. Except as otherwise indicated, provide factory-fabricated horizontal piping hangers and supports <br /> complying with ANSI/MSS SP-58, of one of the following MSS types listed, selected by installer to <br /> suit horizontal piping system, in accordance with MSS SP-69 and manufacturer's published <br /> product information. Use only one type by one manufacturer for each piping service. Select size <br /> of hangers and supports to exactly fit pipe size for bare piping, and to exactly fit around piping <br /> insulation with saddle or shield for insulated piping. Provide copper-plated hangers and supports <br /> for copper piping systems. <br /> Adjustable Steel Clevises: MSS Type 1. <br /> Pipe Hangers: MSS Type 2. <br /> Steel Double Bolt Pipe Clamps: MSS Type 3. <br /> Steel Pipe Clamps: MSS Type 4. <br /> Pipe Hangers: MSS Type 5. <br /> Adjustable Swivel Pipe Rings: MSS Type 6. <br /> Adjustable Swivel Rings, Band Type: MSS Type 10. <br /> Split Pipe Rings: MSS Type 11. <br /> Extension Split Pipe Clamps: MSS Type 12. <br /> U-Bolt: MSS Type 24. <br /> Clips: MSS Type 26. <br /> Pipe Saddle Supports: MSS Type 36, including steel pipe base support and cast-iron floor <br /> flange. <br /> Pipe Stanchion Saddles: MSS Type 37, including steel pipe base support and cast-iron floor <br /> flange. <br /> Adjustable Pipe Saddle Supports: MSS Type 38 including steel pipe base support and cast-iron <br /> floor flange. <br /> Single Pipe Rolls: MSS Type 41. <br /> Adjustable Roller Hangers: MSS Type 43. <br /> Pipe Roll Stands: MSS Type 44. <br /> Pipe Rolls and Plates: MSS Type 45. <br /> Adjustable Pipe Roll Stands: MSS Type 46. <br /> 2.2 PIPE HANGERS <br /> A. Pipe hangers for all piping shall be Fee and Mason or Grinnell of a type suitable for each use. <br /> Perforated straps shall not be used in any work. For ferrous pipes up to and including four inches <br /> (4") in size, use Fee and Mason Fig. 199 malleable iron, adjustable, split ring, swivel hanger. <br /> HVAC piping larger than four inches (4"), but not larger than twelve inches (12") shall be Fee and <br /> Mason Fig. 170. Where several pipes are parallel at the same elevation, trapeze hangers may be <br /> used. Where trapeze hangers are used, the pipes shall be supported on rollers where rollers are <br /> called for by the above specifications. For copper pipes up to and including three inches (3") in <br /> size, use Fee and Mason Fig. 360 malleable iron, copper plated hangers. For copper pipes <br /> larger than three inches (3") use Fee and Mason Fig. 364 copper plated clevis hanger. <br /> B. Hanger rods sizes shall conform to the following schedule: <br /> Pipe up to and including 2": 3/8" rods <br /> Pipe 2-1/2", 3"and 3-1/2": 1/2" rods <br /> Pipe 4"and 5": 5/8" rods <br /> Pipe 6": 3/4" rods <br /> Pipe 8"and 10": 7/8" rods <br /> Pipe 12" and larger: 1" rods <br /> C.
