The final result of balancing shall be to provide uniform air temperatures within a 2° F spread in <br /> the conditioned space at peak load conditions. All air flows shall be within —5/+10% of design air <br /> flows. <br /> D. In the event of dispute with regard to test results, the Owner or Project Engineer may choose to <br /> provide verification of test and balance reports, and such verification shall be by a second <br /> independent agency selected by the Project Engineer or the Owner. Reports found to be <br /> inaccurate will be disallowed, and the test and balance firm will be required to repeat operations <br /> under the supervision of the second independent agency until accurate reports are completed <br /> and agreed upon. The cost of initial test and balance work will be borne by the Owner. The cost <br /> of verification test and balance work shall be borne by the Owner or Contractor or Project <br /> Architect/Engineer (whichever demanded the second opinion). If the original test and balance <br /> reports are found inaccurate and subsequent costs of supervision are necessary in order to <br /> secure acceptable reports, such will be borne by the original test and balance firm. <br /> 1.5 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Submit five (5) certified test reports signed by Test and Balance Supervisor who performed <br /> testing and balancing work to Engineer and to the Architect seven days prior to substantial <br /> completion inspection. <br /> 1. Include identification and types of instruments used and their most recent end tolerance <br /> calibration sheets with submission of final test report. Calibration shall be within six <br /> months of the date of equipment used on this project. <br /> 2. Report shall include a schematic diagram indication the system tested and the device <br /> number of the report correlated to the actual device of the system. Include in the <br /> "NOTES" Section of the report, the actual serial number of the hood used for air flow <br /> measurements. <br /> B. Maintenance Data: Include a copy of certified test and balance report in the operation and <br /> maintenance manual. <br /> 1.6 JOB CONDITIONS <br /> A. Do not proceed with testing, adjusting and balancing work until work has been completed and is <br /> operable. Ensure that there is no latent residual work still to be completed. <br /> B. Do not proceed until work scheduled for testing, adjusting and balancing is clean and free from <br /> debris, dirt and discarded building materials. <br /> 1.7 GUARANTEE <br /> A. The test and balance firm shall include extended services for six months after completion of test <br /> and balance work, during which time the Project Architect/ Engineer and/or Owner, at their <br /> discretion, may request a recheck or resetting of any piece of equipment listed in the test report <br /> believed to not be performing properly. The Contractor shall assist in this extended service. <br /> B. The test and balance firm shall provide technicians to assist in making any tests required. Should <br /> the system be found to not work properly any time during the first year of operation, it shall then <br /> be required to be rebalanced. <br /> C.
