A. Product Data: Submit catalog cuts, specifications, installation instruction, and dimensional
<br /> drawings for each type of pipe, tube, and fitting. Submit piping schedule showing manufacturer,
<br /> pipe or tube weight, fitting type, and joint type for each piping system.
<br /> 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE,AND HANDLING
<br /> A. Except for concrete, hub-and-spigot, and similar types of pipe, factory-applied plastic end-caps on
<br /> each length of pipe and tube shall be provided. Maintain end-caps through shipping, storage and
<br /> handling as required to prevent pipe end damage and to eliminate dirt and moisture from inside
<br /> the pipe and tube.
<br /> B. Where possible, store pipe and tube inside and protected from the weather. Where necessary to
<br /> store outside, elevate above ground and enclose with durable, waterproof wrapping.
<br /> C. Protect flange and fittings from moisture and dirt by inside storage and enclosure, or by
<br /> packaging with durable, waterproof wrapping.
<br /> PART 2- PRODUCTS
<br /> 2.1 PIPING MATERIALS
<br /> A. Provide pipe and tube of type, joint type, grade, size and weight (wall thickness or class)
<br /> indicated for each service. Where type, grade or class is not indicated, provide proper selection
<br /> as determined by Installer for the installation and comply with governing regulations and industry
<br /> standards.
<br /> B. Steel Pipe(Schedule 40):
<br /> 1. Black Steel Pipe: ANSI/ASTM A 53, A 106 or A 120; except comply with ANSI/ASTM A
<br /> 53 or A 106 where close coiling or bending is required.
<br /> 2. Electric-Resistance-Welded Steel Pipe: ANSI/ASTM A 135.
<br /> 3. Electric-Fusion-Welded Steel Pipe: ANSI/ASTM A 672.
<br /> C. Copper Tube: ANSI/ASTM B 88; Type (L not buried), Type K (buried), hard-drawn temper,
<br /> except as otherwise indicated.
<br /> 1. DWV Copper Tube: ANSI/ASTM B 306.
<br /> 2.2 PIPE/TUBE FITTINGS
<br /> A. Provide factory-fabricated fittings of type, materials, grade, class and pressure rating indicated for
<br /> each service and pipe size. Provide sizes and types matching pipe, tube, valve or equipment
<br /> connections in each case. Where not otherwise indicated, comply with governing regulations and
<br /> industry standards for selections, and with pipe manufacturer's recommendations.
<br /> B. Fittings for steel pipe: Class 125 (low pressure), 150 (high pressure).
<br /> 1. Malleable Iron Threaded Fittings: ANSI B16.3; plain, Class 150.
<br /> 2. Malleable Iron Threaded Unions: ANSI B16.39; selected by Installer for proper piping
<br /> fabrication and service requirements, including style, end connections, and metal-to-
<br /> metal seats (iron, bronze or brass); plain, Class 150.
<br /> 3. Threaded Pipe Plugs: ANSI B16.14.
<br /> 4. Steel Flanges/Fittings: ANSI B16.5, Class 150, including bolting and gasketing of the
<br /> following material group, end connection and facing, except as otherwise indicated.
