SECTION 23 21 01 —HVAC PIPE, TUBE AND FITTINGS <br /> PART 1 -GENERAL <br /> 1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br /> A. The bidding requirements and contractual conditions of Division 01 are applicable to this section. <br /> B. Examine other sections of the Project Manual for requirements which affect work of this section <br /> whether or not such work is specifically mentioned in this section. <br /> C. Requirements of Section 23 00 00—HVAC shall apply to this section. <br /> 1.2 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> A. Extent of pipe, tube, and fittings required by this section is indicated on drawings and/or specified <br /> in other Division 23 sections. Drawings are diagrammatic and do not indicate every bend, fitting, <br /> etc. required for installation in the space allotted. Coordinate the work of this section with other <br /> work to avoid conflicts. <br /> B. Types of pipe, tube, and fittings specified in this section include the following: <br /> 1. Piping Materials: <br /> Copper tube <br /> PVC Pipe <br /> 2. Pipe/Tube Fittings: <br /> Fittings for copper tube <br /> Fittings for PVC Pipe <br /> 3. Miscellaneous piping materials/products. <br /> C. HVAC Pipe, tube, and fittings furnished as part of factory-fabricated equipment, are specified as <br /> part of the equipment assembly in other Division 23 sections. <br /> 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Manufacturers: Firms regularly engaged in the manufacture of pipe, tube, and fittings of types <br /> and sizes required, whose products have been in satisfactory use in similar service for not less <br /> than 5 years. <br /> B. Welding procedures, welders and operators shall be in accordance with ANSI B31.1, for shop <br /> and project site welding of piping work. <br /> 1. All welding shall be accomplished by certified welders. <br /> 2. Repair or replace any welding work not in accordance with this specification. Contractor <br /> shall at his own expense and when directed by the Architect, X-ray and randomly <br /> selected welds using the services of a certified test laboratory. <br /> C. Brazing: Certify brazing procedures, brazers, and operators in accordance with ANSI B31.5 for <br /> shop and job-site brazing of piping work. <br /> D.
