3. Three (3) row liquid reheat coil.
4. Stainless steel sloped drain pan.
5. Corrosion resistant construction withstanding 500 hour(minimum)salt spray test.
6. Full capacity receiver.
7. Meet or exceed scheduled EER's at design conditions.
8. Insulation as specified.
9. Compressor operation to 58° F DB.
G. All safety and operational controls shall be factory wired.
H. Safety and operational control features:
1. Internal compressor over temperature protection.
2. Crankcase heaters.
3. Individual motor overcurrent protection.
4. High pressure cutout.
5. Low pressure cutout.
6. Anti-recycle timer(5 minute).
7. Phase failure and low voltage protection.
I. Refrigerant piping: Copper tubing inside, 3/4" and smaller: type ACR, soft appealed temper; cast
copper-alloy fittings for flared copper tubes; flared joints.
J. Copper tubing outside, all sizes: Type ACR, hard-drawn temper tubing; wrought-copper, solder-
joint fittings; brazed joints.
K. Brazing material: Silver solder bearing at least 15% silver; Sil Fos.
2.2 INDOOR UNIT WITH REMOTE CONDENSER
A. Modes of Operation (Variable Reheat):
1. In the dehumidification process, latent heat is transferred from the outside air to the
refrigerant as it passes through the evaporator coil. As the air is cooled below its dew-
point, moisture condenses on the evaporator coil. The latent heat captured by this
process, along with the power consumption of the compressor, is absorbed by the
mechanical refrigeration system. This energy is returned to the air stream via the reheat
coil, resulting in lower relative humidity of the leaving air.
2. The energy recovered is split between the hot gas reheat condenser and a full-size,
outdoor air-cooled condenser or optional water condenser. Hot gas reheat is varied
automatically by a modulating valve controlled by a microprocessor controller, so that the
user's system leaving air temperature set-point is maintained to within + or — 2.0° F.
During the heating season, the compressor shall be locked out below a 550 F entering air
dew point. When the unit is provided with a full cooling option, on a call for cooling from
an optional space thermostat, the unit will disengage the hot gas reheat.
B. Unit Description
1. Unit Enclosure: A 14-gauge galvanized base panel shall be incorporated in all units. The
unit shall be a minimum of 18-gauge galvanized panels. Supports shall be constructed of
14-gauge galvanized steel. Removable panels shall be provided to allow easy access to
all internal parts and components. The electrical control box and switch panel shall be
enclosed in a separate compartment, complete with a hinged door. Single Side Service
Access — The unit shall be designed for complete access for service and maintenance
from one side only. The units will require side access for easy removal of the filters. See
mechanical drawings for access required.
CEA#18010 100% OUTSIDE AIR UNITS 23 75 33 -2
COPYRIGHT©2018 CONSULTING ENGINEERING ASSOCIATES, INC.
